Before the spring semester concludes, it is highly recommended that Cost Center Managers review costing allocation end dates. If adjustments need to be made, the cost center manager should update costing allocations using the Assign Costing Allocation stand-alone business process.
Cost Center Managers can perform this review using the All Positions Costing Allocations report (RPT0433). Below are instructions and tips:
- Run the All Positions Costing Allocations report (RPT0433)
- Enter the date range start and end dates. Date Range Start defaults to today’s date. Date Range End defaults to 08/31/9999 to capture costing allocations with no end date. Earliest Date Range Start for Workday is 11/01/2018. Modify these dates to expand or narrow your search as needed
- Enter Supervisory Organization or Cost Center Accounts or Workers
- The best practice is to leave the last costing allocation segment open ended
- If an end date is required on the last costing allocation segment due to grant account funding dates, an open-ended costing allocation segment should be added using the stopgap account or other appropriate funding source
- Reminder: compensation plans determine if a salaried employee is paid
- Reminder: approved timesheets determine if an hourly employee is paid
For reference, please see the Assign Costing Allocation stand-alone process WIG available on the Workday website.
