Micky will show data underlying how adolescence and stress enhance vulnerability to addiction. She will also show compelling data indicating that “punishment” is ineffective to curb drug taking.
Dr. Michela (Micky) Marinelli is an Associate professor of Neuroscience, in the College of Natural Sciences. She also holds courtesy appointments in the Department of Psychiatry, at Dell Medical School, and the Division of Pharmacology and Toxicology, in the College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Marinelli’s research seeks to understand the neurobiological bases of drug addiction, with an emphasis on the biological and environmental factors that enhance susceptibility to addiction.
