BallTran (Ballistic Transport Calculator)
We develop a program for calculating the ballistic transport properties of low-dimensional materials. Those properties include thermal conductance, electrical conductance, Seebeck coefficient, and thermoelectric figure of merit etc. The program is based on the Landauer’s formula which is then generalized into two-dimensional system. The program offers a quick assessment for the transport properties of low-dimensional materials.
As examples, the plot below shows the normalized thermal conductance (‘conductivity’) of graphene, two-dimensional boron nitride, and metal dichalcogenides, calculated using BallTran:
