The Embedded Scholars program is an innovative research fellowship focused on democracy assistance and research, aiming to launch students’ work in the field while advancing democratic development. The program is based in the University of Texas at Austin’s Government Department and implemented in partnership with CID Gallup, Comparative Constitutions Project, International IDEA, National Democratic Institute, Transparency International, and United Nations Development Programme.

Funded by Texas Global and Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies, the program provides unparalleled opportunities for students to work with CID Gallup and International IDEA in Latin America, with International IDEA in Europe, and with the National Democratic Institute and Transparency International in the Balkans and Eurasia. Students support a range of ongoing democracy assistance programs and engage in original research.

The fellowship is open to all undergraduate and graduate students of any major at UT. We invite you to learn more about the program and contact us with any questions on the program activities or application process. We look forward to hearing from you!
