UT Juniors can Apply Now to UTeach Urban Teachers: Career Opportunities for Current Arts and Social Sciences Majors

UTeach Urban Teachers is an exciting new way to enter the profession as a secondary English Language Arts or Social Studies teacher. We want smart, dedicated, and enthusiastic applicants to think critically about schools with our outstanding faculty in the College of Education.

Current UT juniors in approved majors can apply now to start this summer with a paid internship as part of a faculty-led cohort of future teachers.  The paid summer internship is part of an exciting new partnership with Breakthrough Austin: students accepted to the cohort will take 6 credits over summer Sessions I-II, and get paid teaching experience with the guidance and support from College of Education faculty.

Students can earn their credential to teach at the middle school and high school levels while finishing their degree. To find out more, students are invited to attend a UTeach Urban Teachers info session next week, drop in for advice during café hours, visit us online, or send us an email.
