Textiles and Maya identity

The rainy season is definitely upon us, but it didn’t keep us from enjoying a great weekend at Lake Atitlan. We had class in San Juan La Laguna in a women-run textile coop, where weavers grow their own cotton, dye it with local plants, and weave it on a back-strap loom.
