Congratulations to Dr. Donalyn Heise on being the 2024 Lowenfeld Award recipient. The Lowenfeld Award is given to extraordinary educators who have made significant contributions to the art education field. As the recipient of this award, Dr. Heise will present the Lowenfeld Lecture “Resilience in Art Education: Contexts, Concepts, and Connections” on Friday, April 5th, at the National Art Education Association Conference.

Dr. Donalyn Heise’s new book Restorative Practices In Education through Art will be available in 2025.
The book investigates the restorative aspects of the arts with a focus on healing beyond adversity. Through a collection of essays from experts in the field, this new title brings together a wide range of voices on the path towards restorative arts education. Practical arts-based examples and strategies provide a greater understanding of how to intentionally support students’ in any educational setting
