UPenn Northeast Megaregion Travel Modeling Workshop

  • Presentation

CM2 researchers at the University of Pennsylvania hosted a Workshop on Megaregional Modeling on November 9th. The workshop focused on the development of a Northeast Megaregion Travel Demand and Investment Model covering the area between southern Maine and central Virginia along the I-95 corridor. The CM2 researchers at UPenn have been developing a three part model (intra-metropolitan travel, inter-metropolitan travel, and freight flow volumes) to enable MPOs, state DOTs and local transportation agencies to use a common framework for forecasting and evaluating the travel and development implications of large-scale, multi-metropolitan area transportation investments. Having developed the core databases and networks for the study region, they are now seeking the advice of professionals in the industry about future directions for model and scenario development procedures.
