CM2 partnered with Tran-SET on March 4th to host a webinar about “Techniques to Optimize, Enhance and Facilitate Freight Movement.” Researcher Michael Walton’s Graduate Research Assistant and PhD candidate, Rydell Walthall, presented on “A Perspective on Intra-regional Freight Planning Capabilities and the Implications for Megaregional Planning.” He talked about the importance of understanding planning capabilities, the creation of a regional planning database, how planning capabilities vary across MPOs, and the steps for more consistent freight planning.
