Congratulations to Rydell Walthall, 2021 Outstanding Student of the Year Recipient

The Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) awards competition recognizes outstanding transportation students, faculty and leaders for their accomplishments in the field of transportation research and education. Each year, individuals are honored at the Annual CUTC Awards Reception and Banquet. These individuals, who have been nominated by educators from across the country, have emerged as some of the best and brightest minds in the industry.

The CUTC 2021 Award Recipients from the University of Texas at Austin.

For 2021, the consortium of Cooperative Mobility for Competitive Megaregions (CM2) nominated Rydell Walthall.

Rydell Walthall is a PhD candidate with Dr. Walton who has obtained dual masters degrees in Public Affairs and Transportation Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He has performed freight research for the Austin District of TxDOT, TxDOT’s Freight Division, the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Cooperative Mobility for Competitive Megaregions consortium. Rydell specializes in travel demand modeling, transportation economics, alternative energy policy, and freight rail energy modeling.
