Congratulations to Valencia Stewart, 2022/23 CUTC Student of the Year!

The Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) awards competition recognizes outstanding transportation students, faculty, and leaders for their accomplishments in the field of transportation research and education. Each year, individuals are honored at the Annual CUTC Awards Reception and Banquet. These individuals, who have been nominated by educators from across the country, have emerged as some of the best and brightest minds in the industry.

For 2022, the consortium of Cooperative Mobility for Competitive Megaregions (CM2) nominated Valencia Stewart.

Valencia Stewart is a graduate student at Texas Southern University studying Transportation
Planning and Management. She is President of the WTS (Women in Transportation Seminar)
and is also the Secretary of the ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers) at TSU. In January, 2022, Valencia received the Dwight D. Eisenhower Fellowship, and she was selected to
present research to 2022 The Transportation Research Board Conference in Washington, D.C. as a
TRB Minority Fellow.

Josh holds a BA in Political Science and Sociology from Lamar University and hails from Houston, Texas. As the CM2 CUTC Outstanding Student of the Year recipient, Valencia received an award stipend of $1,000 and travel money to attend the 2023 TRB Conference in Washington, D.C.

Congratulation, Valencia!
