Welcome to the CNS Maker Space!
The Maker Space is dedicated to providing clientele with a wide array of high-standard scientific tools and products, using processes ranging from biology, chemistry, computer science, and engineering to bring forward products at cost-efficient rates and tailored to clientele’s needs.
At the CNS Maker Space, products are offered at a cost-effective rate and are carefully crafted to meet the clientele’s specific needs. The CNS Maker Space combines synthetic biology, biomedical engineering, chemical synthesis, and rapid prototyping to produce useful products for your research project. Examples of the tools that we offer include:
-
3D printing: the Maker Space can print a wide variety of 3D objects from state-of-the-art 3D printers.
-
Laser engraving: via a high-quality Dremel® laser cutter, custom designs can be engraved on wood and acrylic quickly and efficiently.
-
Multi-functional sensors: the Maker Space hand-engineers sensors that can test a wide variety of variables, such as pH and conductivity, at a modest rate.
The Maker Space also offers the chance for UT students to work in the stream, giving them the opportunity to be trained on fabrication skills such as 3D printing, laser cutting, synthetic biology, and chemical synthesis. These skills will eventually be used to build and refine prototypes for clientele as well as enrich basic understandings of biological and chemical processes. As time goes on, the stream plans to expand to the synthesis of DNA, enzymes, proteins, molecular probes, and repairing and calibration of instrumentation.
Based on the clientele’s specific needs, the Maker Space is ready to serve you and produce custom scientific tools that can be used anywhere from homes to research labs. To send a request today, please email us at utcnsmakerspace@gmail.com. We hope to see you soon!
