After receiving her BFA from the Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture in 1968, Associate Professor Susan Whyne moved to the Bay Area where she received an MA in painting from San Francisco State University. She joined the faculty in the Department of Art and Art History at The University of Texas in 1977. She was awarded two National Endowment for the Arts Grants in 1980 and 1989 as well as a Gottlieb Foundation Grant in 1994.
