Thuy-Van Vu was born in Phoenix. She received her BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1998 and her MFA in Studio Art from the University of Texas in Austin in 2006, where she was a recipient of the David Bruton, Jr. Graduate Fellowship. Vu’s work has been exhibited in the U.S. and abroad.
