The Embedded Scholars program is an innovative research fellowship focused on democracy assistance and research, aiming to launch students’ work in the field while advancing democratic development. The program is based in the University of Texas at Austin’s Government Department and developed in partnership with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) and Comparative Constitutions Project (CCP).

Funded by Texas Global, the program provides unparalleled opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students from various disciplines across UT to work in International IDEA’s Latin American offices. Students work with International IDEA to support democracy assistance programs, work with CCP on constitutional projects, and conduct research developed jointly by UT, IDEA, and CCP.

The fellowship is open to all undergraduate and graduate students of any major at UT. We invite you to learn more about the program and contact us with any questions on the program activities or application process. We look forward to hearing from you!
