The Embedded Scholars program is an innovative research fellowship focused on democracy assistance and research, aiming to launch students’ work in the field while advancing democratic development. The program is based in the University of Texas at Austin’s Government Department and developed in partnership with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), and Comparative Constitutions Project (CCP).

Funded by Texas Global, the program provides unparalleled opportunities for students to work with International IDEA in Latin America and NDI in Eurasia and the Balkans. Students support a range of ongoing democracy assistance programs and engage in original research.

The fellowship is open to all undergraduate and graduate students of any major at UT. We invite you to learn more about the program and contact us with any questions on the program activities or application process. We look forward to hearing from you!
