Skopje Team Shares Research on Anticorruption with Ministry

The Embedded Scholars team interning at the National Democratic Institute in North Macedonia met with the Minister of Digital Transformation this week as part of their research on anticorruption efforts in the country. The Ministry’s facebook post on the meeting noted that “We had an honest and constructive discussion on a number of important topics. Meetings like these are a great opportunity to exchange experiences and build bridges with future leaders and researchers from around the world.”

Minister Stefan Andonovski discussed the strategic priorities and current work of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, which was established in 2024 to “accelerate the digital transformation of Macedonian society.” He also discussed the Ministry’s work specifically in the area of improving transparency, accountability, and digital efficiency across North Macedonian government institutions.

The Embedded Scholars team included UT undergraduate students Alexander Dominiak, Avin French, and Arion Moore and UT graduate student Emma Niewald who are interning this summer at the National Democratic Institute in North Macedonia. They shared the research they have been conducting on anticorruption efforts in the country, asking the Minister questions in various areas of their research.
