Are you ready to put your problem-solving skills to the test?
The UT Energy Week Interdisciplinary Energy Case Competition invites UT Austin graduate students and postdocs from all disciplines to collaborate, innovate, and develop real-world solutions to pressing challenges in the energy sector.
The competition centers on a timely and impactful energy topic, bringing together technology, policy, and market perspectives. Participants work in teams, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and present their solutions to a panel of experts—all in a high-energy, fast-paced format!
Participants have the opportunity for recognition, networking, and $500 in prize.
Case Competition Overview
This Year’s Challenge
This year’s challenge focuses on Energy Resilience in Texas, requiring teams to develop actionable strategies that balance technology, policy, and market considerations. Participants will work in interdisciplinary teams, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and present their solutions to a panel of experts—all in a high-energy, fast-paced format!
Prize: $500
Competition Schedule
- Monday: Case Competition Launch at 9:30 a.m.
- Monday & Tuesday: Team work session
- Wednesday: Team solution submitted, presented & judged. Details to come.
- Thursday: Winner announced during networking lunch at 11:45 a.m.
How it Works
- Create a team of 3-5 graduate students from at least 3 different disciplines.
- Fill out an application for your team to participate!
- Teams will receive the case challenge on Monday of UT Energy Week.
- Develop and submit your solution then present to a panel of expert judges on Wednesday (Time TBD).
- Winning team will be announced on Thursday at the networking lunch.
