Keynote Talk: Don’t Mess with Texas: Getting the Lone Star State to Net-zero by 2050

UT Austin Professor of Mechanical Engineering Michael Webber will deliver Energy Week’s kickoff keynote talk “Don’t Mess with Texas: Getting the Lone Star State to Net-zero by 2050.” Prof. Webber will preview the result of his forthcoming study that considers what comprises a successful all-of-the-above strategy for decarbonizing the Texas economy, the energy capital of the world. During the second half of this session, Prof. Brian Korgel will interview Prof. Webber to discuss the implications of the report, and facilitate questions from virtual guests, students, and media.

Energy, Environment and Sustainability (E.E.S) insiders and hiring managers join virtually for a rapid-fire discussion of what early-career professionals in their organizations are doing, who they’re looking for, and the secret ingredients for getting in front of hiring managers.


How it works: Insights from E.E.S. insiders and hiring managers

During this interactive panel discussion in Bass Hall, moderator Erik Funkhouser will facilitate student questions and host a discussion with representatives and hiring managers from exciting, high-impact Texas-based E.E.S. organizations.
