Dr. Anca Ferche
(Assistant Professor)
Anca Ferche is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, a role she has held since 2021. She received her PhD (2020) and MASc. (2015) degrees from the University of Toronto, Canada and her BASc. (2012) degree from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Her research interests relate to the development and application of simulation techniques to assist in the design and assessment of reinforced concrete structures. Major research themes include the analysis and performance assessment of concrete structures, structural implications of deterioration mechanisms, behavior of concrete structures using novel materials and behavior and modeling of concrete structures subjected to extreme loading. Dr. Ferche teaches courses related to the design, behavior, and advanced assessment of concrete structures at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Ferche is actively engaged with technical organizations such as the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib), and the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI).
