Fatima Afifah

Fatima Afifah
Former PhD Student — Transportation Systems

Fatima Afifah completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Prior to joining her PhD studies, she worked as an educator.

Her research focused on traffic safety, particularly car-following behavior in heterogeneous traffic conditions. She developed methods for extracting vehicle trajectories using image processing techniques, which she further expanded during her graduate research.

Her work contributes to improving traffic system understanding and safety through data-driven modeling and optimization approaches.
