INSPIRE Lab studies how to plan renewable generation and distributed energy resources, operate smart grids that integrate electric vehicles and variable supply, and produce clean fuels like hydrogen for hard-to-electrify sectors. Problems We Tackle — three core challenges Problem 01 Renewable Generation Planning Locating and sizing renewable generators and distributed energy resources to maximize integration under uncertainty. Problem 02 Smart Grid Operations Operating distribution networks with V2G, topology reconfiguration, and EV flexibility to absorb renewable variability. Problem 03 Clean Fuels & Hydrogen Designing green hydrogen production, distribution, and use to decarbonize hard-to-electrify sectors.
