Freight Transportation Research / Applications Freight Transportation — where we apply it Freight moves the economy — and emits roughly a quarter of transportation greenhouse gases. INSPIRE Lab studies how to route trucks efficiently, decarbonize long-haul corridors with hydrogen and electrification, and prepare for the next generation of automated freight systems. Problems We Tackle — three core challenges Problem 01 Routing & Platooning Coordinating delivery routes, schedules, and platoon formations to minimize cost and emissions. Problem 02 Freight Decarbonization Designing hydrogen and electric infrastructure to decarbonize long-haul freight, the hardest-to-electrify segment. Problem 03 Freight Automation Preparing for autonomous heavy-duty operations through coordinated routing, perception, and decision-making.
