Reaching Healthcare Professionals

HBRT has teamed with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and leading medical organizations in a national initiative to encourage primary care professionals to screen women for risky alcohol use and reduce alcohol-exposed pregnancies. As leaders of the social work team, we are creating activities and communications that inform and educate social workers about risky alcohol use; promote the use of research-based interventions to screen for alcohol use as a routine part of care; and promote science-based messaging, clinical guidelines, and continuing education resources related to behavioral interventions to reduce alcohol-exposed pregnancies.
