On March 5, 2018 the Colorado River Alliance held their Barstow Speaker Series program in which Dean Hendrickson was asked to speak on the topic “Of Eels & Oysters: The Amazing Ecosystems of the Colorado River and Matagorda Bay”. Dean’s talk oultined the scope of the Fishes of Texas Project and went into discussion on select species found in the Colorado River with an emphasis on American Eel. He spoke about some of the objectives for our current American Eel project, as well as, their life cycle and distribution and status for the state.
