Andrei was born and raised in Novosibirsk, Western Siberia, Russia. In 2015, he received his specialist degree in chemistry from Novosibirsk State University. During his undergraduate studies, Andrei had a research assistant appointment at the Institute of Catalysis, Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences. Then he continued his studies at the Institute of Catalysis as a junior researcher. His research was focused on nickel catalyzed coupling and hydrodehalogenation reactions of aryl halides in ionic liquid media. In January 2019, he moved to Austin, TX and joined the group of Dr Kami Hull. Andrei is currently working on photochemical enantioselective difunctionalization of olefins. Outside of the lab, Andrei enjoys playing keyboards, watching movies and wine tasting (please, no vodka).
