Keiler Lab is now at UT Austin

Our trucks pulled out of State College on April 30 and we are getting our new space set up in Austin. We are looking forward to working with our great new colleagues and learning about everything Austin has to offer!

Neeraja Marathe’s paper accepted at mBio

Neeraja’s paper “Antibiotic that inhibits trans-translation blocks binding of EF-Tu to tmRNA to tRNA” was accepted at mBio. Co-authors from the Keiler lab are John Alumasa and Michael Vazquez. Another exciting paper from our collaboration with the Dunham lab at Emory!

Proteomics paper accepted for publication

Proteomics announced the acceptance of a manuscript by Melissa Vazquez-Hernandez in the Bandow group at Ruhr University in Bochum, “Physiology of trans-translation in Bacillus subtilis”. Stephanie Leedom was a contributing author. Great work Melissa and Stephanie!

Hannah Bauer wins poster award

Hannah won Second Place in the Physical Sciences category at the Penn State Undergraduate Exhibition for her poster titled “Ribosome rescue inhibitors are new antibiotics that kill Streptococcus mitis”. Awesome performance!
