About Us

The Second Language Studies Research Group consists of an interdisciplinary group of researchers focused on many different issues related to second language acquisition, bilingualism, and multilingual communities. Our group aims to foster communication and collaboration among researchers with different perspectives, theoretical approaches, and methodological techniques.

The goal of the SLS Research Group is to create a research network that crosses traditional academic units and provides an open forum for exchanging ideas, exploring topics of interest, workshopping ideas, presenting research findings, and identifying or developing funding opportunities for its members. In addition to supporting the research activities of its members, the group aims to provide opportunities that promote professional development among graduate students and undergraduate researchers.

We are open to all and welcome you to contact us and join us at any of our events. Please visit our ‘Speakers Series’ page for a schedule of events, and subscribe to our mailing list, so that you can receive updates. Contact Nick Henry for more information.
