Each year, the Joynes Reading Room recognizes 2-3 outstanding student writers selected from the Plan II Honors Program and the Liberal Arts Honors Program. These students each receive scholarships of at least $750, as well as invitations to meet privately with some of the distinguished professional writers who visit the Joynes Reading Room. Students who wish to apply may submit up to 12 pages of prose, poetry, or dramatic dialog. Manuscripts must be submitted to the front desk of the Joynes Reading Room between January 28 and February 11. Send questions to mvalentine@mail.utexas.edu.
