Freshman and Sophomores: Study Abroad Planning Scholarships Application Workshop

Did you know that UT Study Abroad will soon award around 70 scholarships for freshmen and sophomores to study abroad next year or the year after? Apply NOW, go abroad later! Join me Thursday for a session on how to put forward a competitive application. The deadline to apply is December 1.

Study Abroad Planning Scholarships Application Workshop

When: Thursday, November 14, 5:30pm – 6:30pm

Where: Jester A215A

Description: Join us for tips on how to apply for this year’s planning scholarships: First Abroad (neither parent has a four-year degree), UGS (undeclared majors), and Global Pathways (have GPA of 2.0-2.5).  The application is simple, no recommendations are required, and you can select your program AFTER you win the award! Recipients have up to two academic years to select a program and participate, ensuring sufficient time to plan their study abroad experience. (For example, a student who is awarded in February 2014 may use the scholarship in any term between fall 2014 and summer 2016.)

This event hosted in partnership with the Gateway Scholars Program in the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement, Longhorn Center for Academic Excellence.

Additionally, students who hold the Presidential Achievement Scholarship (PAS) of $1500 for research/internship/study abroad “Supplemental Enrichment Scholarship” may apply for a $1000 matching award if they choose to use their PAS for a semester-long study abroad program. Approximately 75 of these brand new study abroad “Presidential Achievement Planning Scholarships” are awarded each year!

See you Thursday!
