Women in Engineering Program and the Texas Women’s Council, with support from Intel, will be screening the film Girl Rising, a documentary about the power of educating girls. Educating girls can break cycles of poverty in just one generation, yet millions of girls aren’t in school. The film presents nine girls living in the developing world who confront tremendous challenges and overcome nearly impossible odds to pursue their dreams.

The screening will be Wednesday, October 22 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Texas Union Theater.
