Exercise Study

The EMBARK Lab in the UT Austin Psychology Department is recruiting young women ages 16–25 who are able to exercise for a research study examining the effects of exercise among individuals who restrict their eating. Participation involves three in-person visits, with approximately 5–7.5 hours of total participation, and participants can earn up to $150 for completing the study.

West Campus Collective

Over 1.24 million pounds of food are wasted every day in Austin, and 23% of undergraduates nationwide face food insecurity.  West Campus Collective works to change that. If you are in need of food assistance, please follow our Instagram (@westcampuscollective) and join our Remind (text “wcc-3” to 81010) to watch for distributions in West Campus.

Psychology Research

Interested in gaining psychology research experience? Want to learn more about a different psychology area? All majors and years are welcome!

Join upperclassmen psychology students as they share tips and tricks on how to get involved in psychology research on campus! Learn about the different areas of psychology research, ways to get involved as an undergraduate (labs, internships, programs), and more. Our presenters will discuss clinical psychology, behavioral neuroscience, cognitive psychology, evolutionary psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, human development & family sciences, and educational psychology. Come with questions!

The presentation will be held on Monday, October 26th, from 6 PM – 7 PM in the SEAY 4.244 Library.

Kultura Dallas, an offshoot publication of the Dallas Asian American Historical Society, is now accepting submissions for our fall cluster! We accept reflections, reviews, essays, etc. from anyone with something real to say about Asian American life in DFW and beyond.

Our current cluster considers representation. We want to hear your perspective on Asian American representation in media, whether it has given you words for your own experience or reinforced harmful stereotypes. To submit, email your submission to jered@dallasasianhistory.org along with a short, 50-word bio.
