Bike Job on Campus

UT students Looking for a job?  We have the perfect opportunity for you.

Job Description: Must be able to work the following hours, Monday through Friday 11am – 3pm.  If your career goals include alternative transportation, we have a great opportunity for you.  Focused on the UT bicycle program daily duties include: primarily operating the bicycle hub (The Kickstand) Monday through Friday 11am to 3pm, assisting with bicycle registrations, bicycle warning and impounds, and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Excellent customer relations and computer skills.  The ability to accomplish tasks in a timely fashion. Cash handling or customer service experience a plus.  Must be able to work Monday through Friday 11am to 3pm.  Must have basic bicycle knowledge and a strong desire to learn more regarding state laws and UT regulations regarding bicycles as well as general bicycle maintenance knowledge: including how to fix a flat, and minor adjustments to seats, brakes and handlebars.

Pay: $10/Hr

UT Community Garden Summer Hours

The UT Community Garden has announced its summer hours! We’ll be at the garden every Wednesday 5-8 PM, and we’d love your help! Opportunity for Liberal Arts students in The Daily Texan Comics Page

The Daily Texan Comics Page is holding tryouts for staff positions until June 16. We pay 8 dollars a comic to our scheduled staffers. Working at the Texan Comics Page is a great opportunity for students to build a creative portfolio, showcase their talents, and improve their skills. Intern at the Pew Hispanic Center in DC

The internship is meant to be a summer deal for an undergraduate or recent graduate who knows to use some statistical tools and is interested in studying Hispanics. Lavender Graduation (Deadline Approaching)

Lavender Graduation will be Wednesday, May 18, from 5 to 7 pm in the Student Activity Center Ballroom. Please join us for this ceremony to honor the achievements of graduating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and ally students.

Also, please help us spread the word about the ceremony to graduating students. Any student who is graduating in May, August or December of 2011 is welcome to participate in the ceremony. LAH Needs Volunteers for Orientation Advising

Help new LAHers pick out their fall classes during summer orientation!

From the week of June 6th through July 11th, we will need volunteers to help out all day on Tuesdays, when students are selecting their classes and on Wednesday mornings, from 9 am – noon in the MEZ computer lab when students are registering.

You can provide valuable insight about professors, classes and workload!

We don’t need you every single week – just sign up for what time you can spare by Wednesday, May 4.  There is a sign up sheet at the LAH front desk.

We will have a training session on Monday, May 9 3:30 – 5 pm, with PIZZA, location TBD.

Glamour Magazine’s 2012 Top 10 College Women Scholarship Competition

Glamour magazine would love to invite your students to apply for our 2012 Top 10 College Women Competition. The contest is open to any woman who will be a full-time junior at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada for the 2011-2012 academic year.
