Recruiting Student Leaders!

Texas Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) is currently recruiting for a brand new role as a Team Manager with the Project Advance Austin program. This is a great opportunity to develop leadership and project management skills, while working with local nonprofits to have a positive impact on UT Austin’s campus and in the greater Austin area.

No previous experience is required because Texas LEAD is dedicated to providing meaningful support to help guide students through their experience with Project Advance Austin. New Team Managers will gain leadership and project management skills, while developing a strong professional network, and building a professional portfolio of work. These benefits make this the perfect opportunity for students who want to develop and refine their skills in a supportive environment before entering the professional workforce.

The UT Outpost Student Leadership Board is a group of dynamic and innovative student leaders passionate about supporting the campus community by addressing food insecurity and financial hardships that students face. This team is tasked with managing the day-to-day operations of UT Outpost, programming, and educating the campus community.

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate team of 5 student leaders to support UT Outpost operations and programming for the 2022-2023 academic year. The following positions are available:

Sanger Learning Center hiring students for 2022-23

The Sanger Learning Center is hiring student educators for next fall, and we would love for you to share far and wide with your advisees. Applications for most positions are due April 1. We are hiring for Tutors, Peer Academic Coaches, Outreach & Communication Specialists, Supplemental Instruction (SI) leaders, and Peer-Led Undergraduate Study (PLUS) Coordinators, and all positions start at $14/hour.

Interested applicants should know that they need not have a perfect academic record to apply—the best student educators tend to be those who can collaborate and empathize with peers and know that all learning is a process. We encourage students from all majors and backgrounds to apply.

The deadline to apply for Fall 2022 is March 25, 2022. For NEW Mentors both the application and two recommendation forms must be submitted by the deadline. The recommendation form can be filled out by a UT student leader, staff, or faculty member. They must have a UT EID. Students currently enrolled in FIGs are advised to ask their facilitator to fill out one of their recommendation forms.

2022-2023 FSP Mentor Recruitment!

 

The Foundation Scholars Program (FSP) is hiring mentors for the 2022-2023 academic year. FSP Mentors provide leadership and academic mentorship to first-year students in the College of Liberal Arts, as they transition from high school to UT Austin. Please see attached for the FSP Mentor position description. When able, we strongly recommend interested applicants to reach out to our current FSP mentors and kindly request to sit in on a FSP committee meeting.

To qualify to be an FSP Mentor, you must:

  • have a minimum 2.75 GPA(Spring 2022)
  • be a currently enrolled student at UT Austin
  • must be available Fridays at 9am for required weekly mentor training
  • must be available and enrolled in at least 12 hours in the Fall 22 and Spring 23 semesters (if you are participating in Study Abroad during any of these semesters, you can’t apply to be a mentor)

  • Friday, March 4 at 10am
  • Friday, March 11 at 9am

Attending info session is REQUIRED for a completed application.

Job Opportunity at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is recruiting this fall for the Director’s Financial Analyst (DFA) position, and we want to encourage qualified graduating seniors to apply!

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This unique, two-year rotational fellowship sits at the intersection of the federal government and the financial services industry. Director’s Financial Analysts are given the opportunity to hone analytical and problem-solving skills while helping to make consumer financial markets work for Americans.
All analysts will complete developmental rotations in offices throughout the CFPB. These rotations are designed to provide exposure to the analysis, strategy, research, education, policy development, supervision, enforcement, and rulemaking activities throughout the Bureau. In a short period of time, analysts will play an integral role in everything the Bureau does, from rigorous data-driven policy creation and market monitoring to the supervision of market participants.

ELIGIBILITY AND HOW TO APPLY

  • The DFA program is recruiting for full-time positions that begin in June 2022.
  • Recent graduates who will have received an undergraduate degree on or after April 2019 and before June 2022 are eligible to apply.
