Brodnax Recreation Fund

The Brodnax Recreation Fund is focused on expanding access to RecSports for students who may face financial barriers to participating in programs.

We are currently accepting applications for spring 2025 funding with a priority application deadline of Friday, Dec. 20. Students can apply to have any one of the following programs fully funded for next term:

  • TeXercise All-Access Pass
  • Climbing Wall Pass
  • Intramural Sports Team Entry
  • Day or Weekend Adventure Trip Registration

The MMUF doctoral preparatory program offers a concrete mentoring plan and financial support to students pursuing academic research in Mellon-approved fields in the Humanities and related disciplines. We are committed to increasing perspectives in academia.

CoachUT Applications Spring 2025

CoachUT is a semester-long program where participants receive free, executive-quality leadership coaching. Participants will complete five one-on-one sessions with a professional coach through the spring term. WiSTEM Winter Externship

The WiSTEM Externship is a virtual learning experience for STEM undergraduate students to gain career skills and earn digital badges or microcredentials during the winter or summer break. The WiSTEM Externship is designed to give you credentialed accomplishments for your resume, talking points for interviews, confidence in your professional skills, and training/knowledge/learning to advance your STEM skillset.

WiSTEM offers two Externship learning plan options…

  1. Externship: STEM Career Success Skills with 5 learning modules:
  • Explorations in Mindfulness
  • Design Thinking Practitioner
  • Data Science 101
  • Professional Skills
  • Job Application Essentials

2. Externship: Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors with 3 learning modules:

  • Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals
  • Agile Explorer
  • Semiconductor 101

Digital Badge Opportunity

The Assessment and Data Analytics Team, within the Division of Student Affairs, is proud to offer Longhorns the opportunity to earn a digital badge in survey design with the new Survey Design: Foundations course. This unique skill will be valuable throughout your educational journey and beyond, across a spectrum of career fields, including but not limited to marketing, data analytics, user experience research and more! Enhance your research skills and impress future employers by adding this badge to your LinkedIn profile.

This foundational badge provides information on survey purpose, institutional review board requirements, informed consent, security/confidentiality, and will provide earners the opportunity to practice identifying and writing different types of survey questions.

To earn your badge:

  1. Follow this link to access the Canvas course.
  2. Complete the five Canvas modules by watching each video and scoring at least 80% on the corresponding quiz.
  3. This robust course will take approximately 2 hours to complete, however you can navigate the modules at your own pace and are not required to finish all modules in one session.

Longhorn SHARE Project

Looking for alternative mental health support options or just craving genuine connection with peers? Check out the Longhorn SHARE Project (Support, Healing, Active listening, Reciprocity, Empowerment), a peer support program focused on mental health and social connection! A team of trained peer ‘SHARE Support Specialists’ facilitate non-clinical, non-hierarchical opportunities for students to open up and find validation around shared struggles and exchange support and resources using the combined wisdom of their lived experiences. The following are open to all UT undergraduate and graduate students:

  • SHARE Communities: Weekly peer-led communities for support & connection around specific concerns or identities.
  • SHARE Circles: An impactful group activity for student orgs, classes, and res halls! Increase community, empathy, and understanding in your group with a turn-taking structure that ensures everyone’s voices are heard.
