Student Org Leadership Event

Student organization leaders are invited to the 2024 Longhorn Playbook for Successful Student Organizations event on Thursday, September 12th, from 5:30pm – 8:30pm at the Shirley Bird Perry Ballroom at the Texas Union. The Office of the Dean of Students appreciates your work towards building successful and healthy communities among the student body.  This event is designed to give you the tools, inspiration, and resources you need to continue driving your organization’s success.

Here is what you can expect:

  • A pep-talk from Coach Vic Schaefer, Head Coach of the University of Texas Women’s Basketball Team
  • Team huddles with fellow student leaders and staff in engaging discussions

Psychology Study Abroad

UT Psychology is holding its first faculty-led study-abroad program! Dr. Franco Pestilli will take students to Geneva, Switzerland for a May term in 2025. The course is PSY 355N, cognitive neuroscience.

Dr. Pestilli has incorporated many visits to famous places in the Geneva area, as well as several guest speakers, so experiential learning will be a key part of this program.

The Ignite Fellowship offers college undergraduate students a paid tutoring opportunity that fits into their schedules. This leadership opportunity will allow you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people in an under-resourced school by supporting their academic progress and sense of belonging through customized instruction during their school day. The Ignite Fellowship allows you to gain unique, hands-on experience and professional badges that will validate your marketable skills and give you an edge in landing and performing in any job after college.

URF Fall 2024 Flyer

Applications are now being accepted for the Fall 2024 Undergraduate Research Fellowships, which provide up to $1,000 to support expenses for independent research or creative activity in any major. Awards are made in the Fall and Spring through the Office of Undergraduate Research. Submit your URF application by the 11:59 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30th deadline.

Texas Mock Trial has been the university’s official undergraduate Mock Trial team since 1991 and is one of the most competitive programs in the country. Every year, we compete in multiple tournaments in courthouses across the country. We empower the newest generation of scholars to take on the legal field and beyond.

Free 2 Be Fest is an event through UT COLA running on May 17th and May 18th. The two-day festival will include a film screening, panel discussion, fashion walk, and poetry jam, all with the aim of centering Black Austinites’ experiences and artistic expressions! Come check it out!
