The AI Interest Group was formed to provide a space to learn about and explore how artificial intelligence can be applied in libraries, archives, and museums.
Through monthly meetings, guided discussions, and creative brainstorming, we aim to demystify AI technologies and empower our members to envision how we might incorporate AI into our work.
The Interest Group is open to all community members. No technical expertise is required to participate – just bring an open and curious mind! Our meetings will include presentations, discussions, and brainstorming sessions. Suggested readings and multimedia resources will be provided in advance of the meeting to those signed up for the mailing list so that we can all start on the same page.
Our goal is to build our campus’ capacity to use AI in an ethical, inclusive, and human-centered manner. By learning together, we hope to develop a thoughtful, critical perspective on how AI can enhance cultural heritage work on the UT Austin campus.
Thoughts, comments, questions? We’d love to hear from you!
