Annotating the Latin American Press Review Radio Program

The Benson preserves recordings of the Latin American Press Review, a radio program produced by the Institute of Latin American Studies from 1973 to 1984. The collection offers significant insight into Latin America’s political landscape during the Cold War.

Thanks to a Mellon Foundation subaward granted through English professor Tanya Clement, LBDS developed an interactive project with the radio program.

Rebekah Ramos, LLILAS Benson Digital Scholarship graduate technician and Information School student, analyzed and annotated the first two years of the broadcast using AVAnnotate, an open-source tool that enables collaborative annotation of audiovisual materials.
