The Benson holds correspondence exchanged between Francisco “Pancho” Villa and financial agent Lázaro de la Garza from 1913 to 1915.
The letters discuss the procurement of weapons, food, clothing, and banknotes for the northern army. LBDS staff transcribed the letters and made them accessible through an interactive map. The resource visually traces Villa’s movement through northern Mexico during that period.
