Meredith Brown

I am a graduate student working toward my M.S. and Ph.D in civil engineering, focusing in water resources and sustainable systems. I completed my undergraduate degree at Rice University in Houston, Texas where I conducted research on urban flood prevention and disaster mitigation. My particular interest is critical water infrastructure failure in rural Alaska. Under Professor Machemehl, I am currently learning about the intersection of civil systems and how civil systems like water and transportation are correlated. Eventually, I’d love to use my PhD to work in urban planning and international development. During my free time, you can find me hiking with my cat, Mulligan, or trying cool new recipes.
