Post Doctoral Researcher
Kevin Uribe is a post-doctoral fellow working in the micky marinelli’s lab. Prior to joining the laboratory, Kevin earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from Dr. Laura E. O’Dell’s laboratory in The University of Texas at El Paso. During this time, Kevin investigated if the stress peptide (corticotrophin-releasing factor) and ovarian hormones (estrogen and progesterone) modulate the reinforcing effects of nicotine using behavioral, molecular, and neurochemical techniques. His current research explores the lateral preoptic area (LPO) as a novel contributor in cocaine dependency. He also examines if sex differences are present in the LPO.
