Sarah Kate graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology. Her research background in both social psychology and quantitative psychology has contributed to her interests in macro and micro-level social work. She believes it is equally important to understand how social policies, attitudes and disparities, as well as how interactions between genes and environment shape the development of human behavior and individual outcomes. She hopes her vast array of research interests and experiences will enrich her education and career as a social worker. In her free time, Sarah Kate enjoys hiking, kayaking, boating, and spending time with her two golden retrievers. She has been a runner since the age of 9 and has completed 96 races, including one full marathon.
