- Enhancing IPS Supported Employment to Meet TAY Development Needs
Developed, piloted, and studied using mixed method research, this intervention that promotes competitive employment among adolescents and young adults with serious mental health diagnoses and is an enhancement to Individual Placement and Support (IPS). (NIDILRR-funded, 2019-2023).

Integrating TAY-attuned mental health services as part of vocational program for TAY disconnected from Public Schools
- Breakthrough: Consulted and provided technical assistance in developing program model, screening and assessment, documentation and program evaluation processes in order to improve school and work engagement among vulnerable and marginalized TAY (IL State-funded, 2022-2023).
Improving Vocational and Peer Service Delivery in First-Episode/Clinical High Risk for Psychosis
- Tennessee Healthy Transitions Initiative: Provided training and technical assistance on integrating TAY best-practices and improving team collaboration (SAMHSA-funded, 2019-2022).
Virtual Reality Employment Interview Training Project
- The University of Michigan & Thresholds: Co-designed study recruitment and retention strategies for project with Dr. Matt Smith and his team; provided implementation recommendations for TAY with SMHCs in community mental health settings (NIH-funded, 2019-2020).
Assessing Feasibility of Online Cognitive Training for TAY at clinical high risk for psychosis (CHR-P)
- Rush University: Partnered with Dr. Christine Hooker to adapt her online cognitive training intervention for CHR-P population being served in community mental health setting (SAMHSA-funded, 2018-2022).
Understanding How Child Welfare Providers Identify Youth with Disabilities & Connect to Supported Employment Programs
- Northwestern University: Designed and disseminated survey across child welfare providers in Illinois; co-authored journal article (Northwestern University funded, 2018-2020).
Developing & Testing the “Helping Youth on the Path to Employment” (HYPE) Model Fidelity Scale
- The UMASS Medical School Transitions to Adulthood Center for Research: Build fidelity scale in partnership with research team, and conducted site visits applying fidelity scale to refine and improve assessment capacity (NIDILRR-funded, 2017-2018).
Adapting Supported Employment for TAY
- The UMASS Transitions to Adulthood Center for Research & Thresholds: Integrated Supported Education, Near-Age Peer Support, & Career Development Focus in IPS Supported Employment & evaluated with TAY with complex trauma, child welfare involvement and residential care histories.
