Isidoros Tziotis [Website]
Isidoros is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received his B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications and his M.Sc. in the Graduate Program in Logic, Algorithms and Computation from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Athens in 2013 and 2017, respectively. His research interests lie in the theory of discrete and continuous optimization. Currently, his research focuses on decentralized optimization and federated learning.
Qiujiang Jin [Website]
Qiujiang is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received his B.Sc. in pure and applied mathematics from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Tsinghua University in 2015 and his M.Sc. in computational and mathematical engineering from the ICME Institute at Stanford University in 2017. His research interests generally lie in the theory and applications of optimization. More specifically, his current research focuses on the development of efficient second-order numerical optimization methods for large-scale machine learning problems.
Liam Collins [Website]
Liam is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering co-advised by Prof. Sanjay Shakkottai. He received his B.S.E. in electrical engineering from Princeton University in 2019. His research aims to further our understanding of machine learning techniques in multi-task settings. Most recently, he has studied new methods for meta-learning as well as representation learning.
Ruichen Jiang [Website]
Ruichen is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received his B.Eng. in electronic engineering and B.Sc. in pure and applied mathematics both from Tsinghua University in 2020. His research interests lie in the theory of optimization and machine learning. His current research focuses on developing and analyzing novel algorithms for minimax optimization and studying their applications in game-theoretic learning.
