The Intelligent Environments Laboratory is looking for motivated, talented and exceptional students and postdocs to join our growing research team.
Successful candidates will have interest and skills in the following:
- smart environment technologies (sensing, actuation, communication, algorithms, electronics)
- building control
- occupant comfort
- human-machine-interaction
- data analytics
- sustainable building technologies (PV systems, geothermal heating, etc)
- architectural integration
- Programming skills (Python, Matlab, C/C++, Java)
- Machine learning
We regularly post opportunities for undergraduate research assistants on EUREKA. We are also happy to discuss opportunities in independent research projects (ie CE377K).
Graduate Students are expected to be able to define a research project (MSc/PhD) within the research interests of the group and actively contribute to ongoing research projects. Students that we have been working with in the past have knocked our socks of by their dedication, and result-oriented work approach. We actively encourage and support students to seek scholarship funding, further demonstrating their excellence and ability to knock off socks.
- UT Students: If you are interested in doing research in the Intelligent Environments Lab, please contact Prof. Nagy directly.
- Prospective Students: You should apply for admission to the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, and indicate that you are interested in working with Prof. Nagy. In your statement of purpose, detail how your interests and background fit within the research areas of IEL.
Post-Doctoral Researchers are expected to actively contribute to ongoing research projects, while developing their own research. We provide mentoring and opportunities to further develop teaching and grant writing skills. Potential post-doctoral researchers contact Prof. Nagy directly, with a project proposal and potential funding opportunities for it.
