Annalie Krone is a Research Associate on the Outcomes in Pediatric Neurosciences (OPeN) research team. She studied Biomedical Engineering with a focus on molecular and cellular engineering at Texas A&M University, earning her Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering in 2021. While there, Krone and her team earned second place in Texas A&M’s Biomedical senior capstone design competition, with their in vitro biopsy testbed.
During her undergraduate studies, Krone gained experience with assembling, creating and designing prosthetics and interacting with patients through interning with Martin Bionics; a prosthetic company working on innovative sockets to revolutionize the prosthetic industry. She also worked for ThermoFisher as a biotechnician and as a project manager. These positions reinforced her passion to improve other’s lives and allowed her interest in improving and developing designs and processes to grow.
Afterwards Krone worked as a research fellow at a Texas A&M research lab, performing translational research for digital pathology imaging technology. This included market research and formulation of a product value proposition based on similar technologies, while also exploring specific areas of opportunity for application of the novel technology.
Krone’s interests are in novel ideas that can further medicine, and hopes that through her role as a research associate she will be able to improve lives through new discoveries in care and treatment.
