Sruthi Ilangovan, BS

Sruthi Ilangovan is a Clinical Research Associate with the Outcomes in Pediatric Neurosciences (OPeN) team in the UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences Program at Dell Children’s Medical Center. She studied Biology and Philosophy of Law in the Dean’s Scholars Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin. During this time, Ilangovan authored a thesis on pediatric implantable ventricular assist devices, ultimately presenting the study at the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation’s 42nd Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions.

Prior to her role within the Department of Neurology, Ilangovan worked at the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. Her work primarily focused on the psychosocial wellbeing of expectant parents with a fetal diagnosis of critical congenital heart disease (CCHD). In addition to publishing her research, Ilangovan successfully co-developed a peer mentoring program for parents of children with single ventricle congenital heart disease (SV-CHD). Ilangovan has also contributed to research in the UT Health Austin Musculoskeletal Institute and the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Group at Dell Medical School.

Ilangovan’s clinical interests include expanding integrated health care, increasing access to psychosocial support, and improving health communication with vulnerable populations. Ilangovan has authored articles and abstracts that reflect her research interests and is committed to revolutionizing care for pediatric patients and their loved ones.
