The Photography & Media area is located on the second floor of the Art Building on the main campus of The University of Texas at Austin. It features a color-managed computer lab, wet darkroom lab with 4×5 enlargers, a finishing area, lighting studio, and seminar room. Equipment available to students include film and digital SLRs, medium-format, large-format cameras, and studio lighting kits. Students have access to research and informational resources including the Fine Arts Library, Briscoe Center for American History, Benson Latin American Collection, Blanton Museum of Art and Harry Ransom Center.

Darkroom
- 15-station darkroom equipped with Omega Pro-lab 4×5 enlargers and ventilation throughout

- Supplies for sheet and roll film development, print washers, and trays for developing from 8×10 to 30×40 prints
All registered Photography students and Photography graduate students are welcome to use the lab during open hours. Currently enrolled students can check out equipment up to 7 days through their class TA. Each student must sign a Conditions of Checkout agreement and abide by the Late Return Policy.
