PRC Announcements
The PRC has the capability to assist in the distribution of information that would be of interest to the PRC community. Distribution areas can be a combination of any of the following:
- Listservs *Link to Listserv Wiki Page*
- We have listservs for faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, project staff, external faculty affiliates and a general listserv that encompasses everyone.
- If you know of someone that would like to be part of the general listserv, email service@prc.utexas.edu to have them added.
- Example: A faculty member has been emailed about a job opening at another university. The faculty member would forward the email to service@prc.utexas.edu and someone on the administrative team would forward that email to the graduate students and postdoctoral scholars listserv.
- We have listservs for faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, project staff, external faculty affiliates and a general listserv that encompasses everyone.
- News Blasts
- The PRC typically sends out a News Blast every Friday during the academic year. The information included in the News Blasts are tailored for a broader community.
- Example: A faculty member is part of an organization that will be doing a webinar that is open to the public. The faculty member would email service@prc.utexas.edu and/or the PRC director asking if they could include the information in the next News Blast.
- Social Media
- The PRC has a Twitter and Facebook. If you have won an award, published a paper or have a project announcement, let us know! We love to brag about our affiliates. In addition to letting us know, please give us some context for the post and we can tweak it as needed.
- Example: “A New York Times Guest Essay by PRC Graduate Research Trainee Dana Johnson (@DanaMartha_) discusses the court case Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. US FDA – which threatens access to medication abortion – even in states where abortion is still legal. LINK TO ARTICLE.”
- Website
- The PRC has a news section on our website. Typically whatever we post on social, we will also post on the website, and vise versa.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to the administrative team with any announcements or information you would like to disseminate. We can help you determine which platforms would be best to distribute the information.
