AUGUST/SEPTEMBER
- August 19 – September 27: “Come from Away“, Zach Scott Theatre. You might remember Kevin Tuerff, UT graduate, and collaborator on several RFSA events. Kevin’s life changed on September 11, 2001 when US airspace was closed due to the World Trade Center bombings. Kevin’s jet, along with 37 others, was diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, where that small town suddenly had 7000 unexpected guests. The Tony award winning Broadway show “Come From Away” is based on real Gander residents and real stranded passengers, including Kevin, and how that small town managed it all. After his 9/11 experience he created Pay It Forward 9/11 (payitforward911.org) to pass forward the kindness that was shown in Gander. This year marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. And Zach Scott is putting on “Come From Away” August 19 through September 27. Kevin will be at the after-show talk-back on August 19 & 20. Tickets may be purchased online at Zach Scott Theatre.
