Teaching I approach the privilege of teaching at the University of Texas with three primary goals: 1) design and facilitate learning environments where students can gain mastery of skills and knowledge to synthesize and create; 2) recognize diverse learning styles and respond with diverse pedagogical approaches; 3) continuously improve my curricula and instruction to deliver the highest quality educational experience. To accomplish these goals, I strive to develop lesson plans that employ an array of deductive and inductive education strategies, including in-class activities, discussion boards, short assignments, semester long projects, and lectures aligned with learning objectives. I encourage experiential learning, building relationships and learning communities, as well as working in teams.
